A home-turned-guest house to serve the weary traveller and wandering nomad in Lagos
The solution
This interior design and renovation project for this Lagos Guest House was an exercise in transforming a home on Lagos Mainland built in the late 90’s into a sophisticated sanctuary ready to host short and long-term guests. Located in the heart of the city, the goal was to lean into the bones of the home to create, warm, light spaces that prioritizes guest comfort and feels less like a temporary abode and more like a home to return to.
The existing sliding doors and ample windows allow light to penetrate deep into the floor plan, making the spaces feel significantly larger and more breathable. The palette is intentionally restrained, using warm, earthy tones and natural textures like timber and stone to create a sense of calm that contrasts with the fast-paced energy of Lagos in general.
The layout was carefully reconfigured to balance social areas with private retreats. We designed a seamless transition between the dining and lounge spaces, anchored by bespoke lighting and sculptural furniture pieces that serve as functional art. Every detail, from the textured wall finishes to the furniture and cabinetry, was chosen to evoke a sense of quiet luxury. The result is a guest that feels deeply personal and highly refined—a modern, airy retreat from the chaos outside.
